STEAM WHISTLE UNSIGNED VANCOUVER – Redbird, Rolla Olak, & JP Maurice, Biltmore Cabaret – April 3, 2014

The first Steam Whistle Unsigned Vancouver event of the year was last Thursday at the Biltmore Cabaret. It was a night full of great music from three local talents: Redbird, Rolla Olak, and JP Maurice.

It was the second Unsigned Vancouver show that I have attended, with the first one being last November featuring Beekeeper, Facts, and Fine Times. At both shows, I have noticed that it feels a lot like watching a friend’s band play in an intimate setting, almost like the comfort of a living room.

These shows are a great representation of the talent found locally in Vancouver’s backyard, with old and new friends like gathering with common ground – the love of good music and the support of local musicians for a great cause. All of the proceeds of Thursday night’s show went to Music Heals.
